A Very LEGO Christmas

It turned out to be a very LEGO Christmas for me and the Brickworkz studio. Like many Americans, I look forward to the day after Thanksgiving- Not because of the deep discounts and excellent prices at department stores, but because it's finally time to really get into the Christmas spirit. I figured this year I would do it LEGO style.

Brickworkz Christmas Planning ahead back in November, I purchased 75 2 x 2 Duplo bricks (Brickworkz Orange of course!) and drilled a tiny hole in the corner. It took about an hour to get them all drilled, and I was very pleased that the tiny holes were hardly visible from any distance. I strung black thread through the holes, and tied them into loops to hang over the tree limbs. Bam! Instant LEGO Christmas tree decorations!

While I was shopping for the Duplo bricks, I came across some really cool LEGO coasters. I bought a few of them- they are excellent! The silicon coasters keep hot or cold condensation from ruining furniture and are really easy to clean. They're flexible but sturdy.

Christmas came along, and I was working on a mosaic project while on the road in New York. As the Christmas morning unwrapping went on, I found LEGO salt and pepper shakers in my stocking. I haven't tried them yet, but they look pretty funny. Also under the tree were some LEGO ice cube trays Since these are also silicone, they bend and flex unlike traditional ice cube trays. Slamming a tray on the counter to get out a cube is a think of the past. (well- so are ice cube trays.)
