Brickworkz LEGO mosaics : Blog : Saving the World, a LEGO at a Time Saving the World, a LEGO at a TimeBrickworkz is coming to Danville, VA on Saturday Aug. 4 to help raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Fans of LEGO from around the region are gathering for the fundraiser at the Institute for Advanced Learning & Research in Danville from 10am - 1pm. The second annual LEGO Build-off muscular dystrophy fundraiser kicks off Saturday, Aug. 4. Danville Parks, Recreation, & Tourism, United Way, and the Institute for Advanced Learning & Research are pleased to host this unique event. The Build-off is a LEGO building competition for kids big, small, or old to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association in honor of a little boy named Morgan Hall, who suffers from the degenerate disease. Participants build their own, unique, LEGO masterpieces prior to the day of the event. Then, on August 4, 2007 the participants will display their masterpieces during designated times at a designated location. Each masterpiece will have a corresponding donation jar. The public will be the judges, placing money in the jars as they see fit. The participant with the most money in his or her jar wins. (really, I think everyone wins.) So, bring your checkbook and come join us! August 4, 2007, 10am - 1pm Read an article about this great cause on the Danville Register & Bee's website.
