For a long time now, Brickworkz founder Brian Korte has wanted to capture the love for his girlfriend in a creative way. It was not a difficult choice to choose LEGO art as the medium.
EDITOR'S NOTE : I designed this piece while waiting for the arrival of my friends' new baby in the hospital waiting room. The goal was to get the design created and built before Valentine's Day and surprise Molly with it. I want to give a special word of thanks to Brickworkz builder Olivia Pollard for rushing this project along! I couldn't have done it on time without her help!
Molly loved it. Valentine's Day was a hit, and the mosaic will be a cherished piece for a long time!
Since this project was created, I have wanted to replicate it for my own home, as well as for Brickworkz displays, as it captures a veery good representation of how well the right adjustment of contrast can look when pixelated into LEGO bricks.
