Pampers and Circumstance
The Baby Expo this past weekend in Fredericksburg was a big success. The crowd at this expo was much bigger than Richmond's event, which was great exposure. I made some great connections in central Virginia and already have some future Brickworkz events lined up for the coming year. A review of this new show is here

We have a winner!
Congratulations to the Vartak family, winners of the Spongebob Squarepants LEGO mosaic from Brickworkz! This 9,220-piece LEGO mosaic was the most elaborate in terms of design and rarest in terms of color (so far!) The piece - valued at over $900 - was donated to the Baby/Child Expo as a door prize. Congrats again! Don't miss the making of Spongebob on the FilmZ page

This just in!
October was a great month for Brickworkz press! Brickworkz was interviewed way back in June for a piece in October's Work Magazine. (You can still grab one in the Richmond area. Page 33, baby!) Other great news was when Jeff Kelley came by to visit the Brickworkz Studio to interview for the Richmond Times-Dispatch. The spread that he and photographer Mark Gormus put together was very generous - it made the front page of the Sunday Business section! Read those articles and more at http://www.brickworkz.com/press/

You can bank on us.
After the Work Magazine press, I met Jim Salley, a fellow Richmonder who offered to display my work at some of the Provident Bank branches in town. Happy to oblige, I met with the branch managers and have worked on some fun designs for their spaces that will turn heads and be great exposure for Brickworkz. (designs coming soon to the site!) Thanks again to Jim and the friendly people at Provident Bank for the opportunity!

"Mr. Gorbachev, tear down those LEGOs."
This month also marked the completion of the Cold War Museum logo (in LEGO). The project was originally slated to be done a while ago, but had a complete overhaul which set things back a bit. The finished piece, an 8-color, 20,745-piece LEGO mosaic is on-deck to be displayed at Gallery5 in Richmond, Virginia. During the month of November, Gallery5 is hosting the Russian Arts Festival. Francis Gary Powers, Jr. of the Cold War Museum will be among those with exhibits of Russian art. Check out the blog- including a fun time lapse video at http://www.brickworkz.com/coldwar/

Current Projects
Most of my current projects are intended on being surprise presents, so unfortunately I can't share them in the newsletter or online, but I can generalize that this month I will be working on three pieces for offices, two pieces for homes, as well as the Provident Bank designs I am currently working on.

I think that's got it for October, everyone! Thanks for reading, and be sure to check out http://www.brickworkz.com to see what's new! This newsletter brought to you by the letter L and the number 4. I'm sleepy.

Play well!
