News from the Studio: a Brickworkz LEGO mosaic update
Brickworkz to Visit the Windy City
This Wednesday, I pack up the rental van and head for Chicago for BrickWorld, 2007's biggest LEGO convention. Brickworkz is a proud sponsor of the event, and LEGO geek Brian Korte (yours truly) will be presenting seminars on building LEGO mosaics to attendees and the general public throughout the weekend. We will have two vendor tables this time, since we've outgrown the space from last year. It is going to be a blast! Check out daily updates from the road starting Thursday night at the Brickworkz blog, or just visit www.brickworkz.com/brickworld for some LEGO love!

Brickworkz Summer Sale!
Last year we offered a sale from June through August, which proved to be a hit. This year, we'll do better than 2006 by offering 10% or $150-off (whichever is greater) for any LEGO mosaic projects commissioned between now and August. Discount is good for business or personal projects, so mention this newsletter when you contact us.

Current Projects in the 'WorkZ'
Last week, we finished a project for Lemelson-MIT's InvenTeams program. The good folks at MIT wanted a LEGO mosaic as a fun way to bring attendees together for the Odyssey event. The InvenTeams Odyssey is for participating High School inventors around the country to come together and demonstrate their inventions. Each attendee will bring the blue LEGO bricks that came with their invitation and make the LEGO mosaic 3D by adding to the mosaic, brick by brick. Sounds like fun!

Another creative group project is with agricultural giant Cargill, Inc., whose U.S. employees will participate in a mosaic build with Brickworkz! During their corporate meeting this week, each employee will autograph a LEGO tile. The signed tiles will return to the Brickworkz studio, where we will build a giant mosaic of the Cargill logo surrounded by the 880+ employee signatures, all from LEGO parts! Coming soon to brickworkz.com/cargill

Thanks to Renovation Resources!
Thanks again to Kevin Korda at Renovation Resources for inviting Brickworkz to participate in Richmond's First Fridays event in May. It was a really fun night. Hundreds of people got to see some of the newest mosaics from Brickworkz. By the way, talk to Kevin- he will get your place fixed-up with all sorts of cool sinks, lights and tile designs. ...And no, he didn't pay me to write this! It's just cool design! They offer stuff you thought you could never find. Check out sinksfaucetsandmore.com

Out of more than 70 nominees, Brickworkz was a finalist for this award honoring "extraordinary creativity" in Virginia businesses. Read about my experience at the party.

Dapper: We Did It!
The Dapper mosaic was the largest and most colorful LEGO project in Brickworkz history. Thanks again to the wonderful Brickworkz 'helperz' who made this build possible! Learn about this mega-project and don't miss the making-of video!
