Created as an homage to the Pop Art style of contemporary art, this piece was modeled after Roy Lichtenstein's "Kiss V 1969" as a demonstration of the vivid colors that LEGO can add to mosaic art.

I also built this as an homage to the many Contemporary artists who have broken the mold of traditional artistic methods. I'm quite fond of people using non-traditional means to create expression. Particularly of the tedious variety like 20,000 LEGO bricks.

Assembling and framing this Lego mosaic was a challenge because it was larger than I was used to. I framed it out after a few trials and finally found something that worked well.

This LEGO mosaic was a hit at Brickfest 2006, and sold to a Richmonder. See it at the legal office of William Ellyson in Richmond, Va!
